My Future Classroom

Surely every teacher has their own dream classroom. As for me, I also dream of certain things that I can have to furnish my own classroom...

I would like to have:
1. at least 3-5 computers with the internet access to be put in the classroom. These
computers is going to be used to assisst my teaching whereby I can surf the internet and
shows to pupils some links that are related to my lesson. Therefore, pupils can explore
something that is different from the textbook.

2. DVD/CD player and of course a television. This is useful because there are many
softwares that available in the market nowadays. Teacher can vary his or her teaching with
using this softwares.

3. lockers for every pupils... There are many times that teacher faces problem of pupils not
bringing the book to the class. By having these lockers, this problem can be overcome.

4. tables and chairs that are movable. This will help the teacher and the pupils to easily
arrange the space when there are to work in groups.

Other than that, I would like my pupils to actively engage or participate in the lesson, ready to communicate and collaborate with other pupils and teacher and last but not least have the sense of respect to others ( this is the one of the value that need to be instill in this techno-savvy era and there's lot of others need to be emphasized).

After all, this is only my dream classroom. However, I believed that certain things that I dreamt of can be achieved!

Soft Skills

Throughout this semester, I’ve learned a lot from this course. This course makes me open my eyes to TECHNOLOGY which is something that I pay less attention before. I also developed some soft skills during attending this course...

1. COMMUNICATION: My communication skill is increased by working in groups. I've learned to give opinions and comments on other member's work. I have also become more confident to put forward my thought and share it with other members regarding the assignments that we received. Blogging is also one thing that I found quite effective to be used as tool to communicate since I can share my day-to-day experience with others and vice versa.

2. CRITICAL THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING: I've developed this skill through the assignments given. In preparing the assignments, I need to make difficult decisions and choices of what to be produced and how to present the ideas clearly and concisely. Besides that, i need to rationalize or justify all the input that I produced in all assignments and this acquires lots of deep thinking.

3. TEAMWORK: I've developed this skill the most because all the assignments require us to work in groups. Through teamwork, I’m able to share my thoughts, help others and learn how to give and take which is the thing that I'm not usually practice before.

4. LEADERSHIP: The skill that I developed least in this course. But somehow, I found that I developed a little bit of this skill by becoming the leader of myself in which I always motivate myself to learn new things (especially about technology), open to others' opinions and think positively when handling with problems regarding the assignments.

5. ETHICS AND PROFESSIONAL VALUES: After attending this course for quite a time, I've learned to be more ethical and professional person especially in completing all the assignments. I've trained myself to be more discipline by starting the work early and finish it on time (i'm still working on it!) and putting more effort in considering what, which and how to produce teaching resources that are valuable and effective.

6. LIFELONG LEARNING: This course exposed me with the use of ADEC and blog. It gives me the opportunity to keep up with the learning even outside the class hour. For example, I can read the articles or notes given by lectures which I'm not able to read in class. So, the learning is not embedded in classroom context alone. Now everyone can learn continuously, everywhere and anywhere.

7. ENTREPRENEURSHIP: Well, I found that I'm not really developed this skill yet.
